M24 is a very dense open cluster in Sagittarius, facing the center of the galaxy. It is visible to the naked eye from a dark enough spot. Taken with the SAC 8.

M46 is an open cluster in Canis Major. This is a composite of a black-and-white and a color image.  They were taken months apart, hence the bizarre look.  The Planetary Nebula NGC 2438 is also visible.
