M31, The Andromeda Galaxy


M31 is the furthest object we can see with our naked eye (2.5 Million Light Years). This image was taken with the SAC-8. Due to the small field of view of my camera and telescope, you are only seeing the core of the galaxy.

M33, The Pinwheel Galaxy

 

The Pinwheel Galaxy is a large galaxy in Triangulum.  Taken with the SAC-8.

M51, The Whirlpool Galaxy


 

M51 is a spiral galaxy in Canes Venatici. The companion galaxy NGC 5195 is also visible. Also, just below the core, a recently erupted supernova is visible, though not notable. This is a composite image.
